Cool and Useful Internet Tricks

1. Restore Closed Browser Tab

If a browser tab is mistakenly closed, you can quickly re-open it by holding CTRL+SHIFT+T.

2. Highlight URL only on page

Holding CTRL+L, highlights the URL in Google Chrome.

3. Quickly Enter URLs

Ever tried typing a URL but typing “www.” before and “.com” after is too cumbersome? Type the website name and just hold CTRL while hitting enter. (CTRL on Windows and “Control” on Mac)

4. Pause YouTube videos the right way.

Many times attempting to pause a YouTube video with the spacebar, resulted in the page scrolling down instead of pausing and playing the video. Sure, click in the video will make the spacebar work now but there’s a much simpler way. Just hit “K” and the video will pause whether you have clicked on it or not since the page loaded.

In addition to pausing, you can hit “L” to skip forward 10 seconds in the video, and “J” to go back 10 seconds.

5. Access websites that are restricted in your country.

If you’re tired of not being able to access specific websites because of your location, try using the Hola plugin. This works like a VPN, and spoofs your location on the web.

This comes in handy when you want to use a service such as Netflix, but a certain title is not available for streaming in your country.(I am in no way encouraging you to do this….)

6. Hidden game in Google Images.

Go to www.google.com, type “Atari Breakout”, hit Images…and wait for it….

7. See the past.

Want to see how Google looked in 1998? Go to www.google.com and search “Google in 1998″.

Enjoyy :)
